Woodstock, VT (one of Vermont's most-visited villages, Billings Farm, Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park) adopted a registration ordinance in 2023. No unit cap, no primary-residence requirement. STR permitted broadly in residential and commercial zones. The Village of Woodstock historic core and the Suicide Six / Saskadena Six ski area hold most inventory. The town has signaled it will revisit the framework if growth pressures the long-term rental market.
STR allowed in Village Residential (VR), Village Business (VB), Rural Residential (RR), and Forest Conservation (FC) districts. The Village Historic District overlay adds exterior-aesthetic standards but does not restrict STR use. Confirm subdivision covenants in Pomfret, Bridgewater, and other neighboring towns — Woodstock proper has limited inventory and many investor purchases happen in adjacent towns under their own rules.
