Privacy

We collect almost nothing.

What we store

  • Your email address — only if you subscribe to compliance alerts or the newsletter.
  • Your subscribed states/cities, so we know what alerts to send you.
  • Aggregate usage analytics (page views, referrer, broad geography) via Google Analytics 4. GA4 sets first-party cookies; we do not enable Google Signals, Ads personalization, or cross-site advertising features.

What we don't store

  • Your raw IP address. Rate-limiting uses a hashed identifier that cannot be reversed.
  • Your property address. We send alerts at the state and city level; we do not need or want your exact location.
  • Third-party tracking pixels (no Facebook, no Google Ads remarketing).
  • Any data about your bookings, revenue, or platform credentials.

Data sources for regulation data

Regulation information published on STRLaws is sourced from official state and city government pages, public legislative records, and public legal filings. We do not collect or publish data about individual property owners, listings, or guests.

Cookies

We use one cookie: an "I dismissed the alerts banner" flag, set only if you dismiss the banner. No tracking cookies, no advertising cookies, no third-party cookies.

Email alerts

If you subscribe to alerts, you'll receive a confirmation email (double opt-in). After confirming you'll get alerts when the regulations for your subscribed jurisdictions change, plus an occasional national-roundup summary. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe; we honor it within 5 minutes.

Data deletion

Email hello@strlaws.com with the address you want removed. We delete within 48 hours and confirm by reply.

Changes

We update this page when the underlying practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top tracks the version.
