Where regulation data comes from

STRLaws scrapes municipal code repositories, city council minutes, state legislative records, and short-term rental program portals for each tracked jurisdiction. Primary sources are linked directly from every city page.

How extractions are verified

Each scrape is processed by an AI extraction pipeline (Claude — Anthropic) that produces a structured record with a self-reported confidence score. Extractions below 85% confidence are routed to human review before publication. Extractions above 85% publish automatically and are re-verified on the next weekly scrape.

Update cadence

Every tracked city is re-scraped weekly. Changes are diffed against the previous verified state and classified as minor, material, or major. Material and major changes trigger blog posts and subscriber alerts.
